Habitat is a research platform concerning unconventional housing phenomena and their possible declinations.
Habitat aims at building a collection of heterogeneous perspectives by photographers, artists and researchers in urban matters, dealing with the potential forms and experiments on contemporary living and housing.
Habitat. Situationist, alternative to human overpopulation.
Phenomenological in studying the informal mechanisms of modification of urban substance. Extreme, at the margins of society or in war contexts.
Critical as in temporary detention centers or prisons.
Expressing paradoxical distortions.
Visionary in catching the instances of transformation, the multiple reflections that contemporaneity provides.
Habitat is a measuring tool – both invisible and invasive – of the reaction to the urban status quo, an open invitation to critical thinking and interpretation on a such complex and extensive topic.
Habitat hosts a permanent online archive open to different media (photography, essays, videos, installations, public actions, performance) and provides a communication platform for small worlds spinning in the multiple universe of living.
